Manual Demo Import (OCDI + Elementor)

1 min read

Manual demo import is used when the automatic importer fails or when you prefer to upload the demo files yourself.
Rakmyat uses One Click Demo Import (OCDI) format plus Elementor templates.

1. Required demo files #

Inside each demo folder you have:

  • content.xml – posts, pages, portfolio, services, menus, widgets.
  • customizer.dat – WordPress Customizer settings.
  • theme-options.json – Rakmyat Theme Options.
  • site-settings.json – Elementor Site Settings (global colors, typography, etc.).
  • manifest.json – mapping information for OCDI.
  • screenshot.png – preview image (optional, for reference).

Example listing:

textcontent.xml
customizer.dat
manifest.json
screenshot.png
site-settings.json
theme-options.json

2. Import content.xml via OCDI #

  1. Install and activate One Click Demo Import (if not already bundled).
  2. Go to: Appearance → Import Demo Data (or Rakmyat Dashboard → Demo Import → Switch to Manual Import).
  3. Under Manual Import you will see upload fields.

Upload the following:

  • Content: choose content.xml.
  • Customizer: choose customizer.dat.
  • Widget/Options (if field exists): choose theme-options.json or follow the labeled field.
  1. Click Import and wait until the process finishes.
This will create all pages, posts, portfolio items, services, menus, and assign basic settings.

3. Import Rakmyat theme options #

If your panel gives a separate Import/Export for theme options:

  1. Go to: Rakmyat Dashboard → Theme Options → Import / Export.
  2. Choose Import from File.
  3. Open theme-options.json in the file selector and confirm.
  4. Save Changes.

This will apply all global colors, typography, header/footer choices, etc.

4. Import Elementor Site Settings and templates #

For Elementor global settings:

  1. Edit any page with Elementor.
  2. Click the top‑left Elementor icon → Site Settings.
  3. In the bottom left, click the three dots → Import/Export Kit (or go to Elementor → Tools → Import/Export Kit).
  4. Choose Start Import and upload the kit that includes site-settings.json and related files,
or, if you exported/imported manually, use the Elementor library import:
    • Elementor → Tools → Import/Export → Import.
    • Upload the zip that contains manifest.json, site-settings.json, and templates.

Elementor will:

  • Import global colors and typography from site-settings.json.
  • Import templates, headers, footers, single/archived layouts based on manifest.json.

5. Summary of manual steps #

  1. Upload content.xml and customizer.dat (and widgets/options if field exists) via OCDI Manual Import.
  2. Import theme-options.json inside Rakmyat Theme Options → Import / Export.
  3. Import Elementor kit containing site-settings.json and templates so Elementor pages look exactly like the demo.

After these three parts are imported, your site should match the demo and be ready for editing.
