Install Using FTP

Use FTP when WordPress uploader doesn’t work or for faster installation on production servers.

What You’ll Need #

1. FTP Client: FileZilla (free), WinSCP, or Cyberduck
2. FTP Details: From your hosting providertextHost: ftp.yourdomain.com (or IP) Username: your_ftp_username Password: your_ftp_password Port: 21

Step-by-Step FTP Installation #

Step 1: Download & Prepare Files #

1. Download your Rakmyat theme package
2. Extract rakmyat-theme.zip on your computer
3. You now have a folder called rakmyat-theme

Step 2: Connect to FTP #

1. Open FileZilla
2. Enter your FTP details
3. Click Quickconnect

Step 3: Navigate to Themes Folder #

textLocal (your computer): rakmyat-theme folder
Remote (server): /public_html/wp-content/themes/

Step 4: Upload Theme #

1. Drag rakmyat-theme folder to /wp-content/themes/
2. Wait for upload (2-5 minutes)
3. Verify folder exists: /wp-content/themes/rakmyat-theme/

Step 5: Set Permissions (Important) #

textFolders: 755
Files: 644

Right-click folder → File permissions → 755

Step 6: Activate in WordPress #

1. Go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin
2. Appearance → Themes
3. Find Rakmyat Theme
4. Click Activate

Common FTP Issues #

Alternative: cPanel File Manager #

1. Login to cPanel
2. File Manager → public_html/wp-content/themes/
3. Upload → Select rakmyat-theme.zip
4. Extract zip file
5. Delete zip file after extraction

After FTP Installation #

1. Activate theme in WordPress admin
2. Install Rakmyat Core plugin (required)
3. Activate license
4. Import demo content

FTP installation complete!
